    Hi,
I am a qualified secondary school teaher, havent been getting anything since I qualified. At this stage I would consider working for free just to gain experience. I havent been on social welfare for three months yet so I would not qualifiy this way but I was thinking if I wrote to schools offering would this help?any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Check the ASTI and TUI's stance on the matter of Jobbridge. You may be welcomed by management who would love an extra pair of hands. The staff, however, may not be welcoming, as many don't agree with qualified teachers working for the dole, possibly because it could open up the doors for an unpaid NQT year. What part of the country are you in? I have heard my principal and friends saying that it has become impossible to find a qualified sub in the Dublin region, for short-term work. Could you get the CVs out again and make some calls to let principals know that you are still available?

Dont do it !!! Move countries if you have to. It did look good for a while when I wasnt getting subbing but playing in to their hands isnt an option. Be confident in yourself and realise you deserve to be paid same as anyone else. None of the unions agree with it and no teacher should do it. Hope things pick up for you soon.
