Sound Output Problem

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for an annoying problem i'm having...

I have an Asus Xonar DG 5.1 soundcard with an optical out. I can't get the sound to output in 5.1 DD or DTS at all.

I'm using a Samsung surround sound system, the DTS and DD work fine through the PS3 and everything i use with it.

The sound drivers are all up to date. When i test the DTS in the speaker properties in Windows 7, i get a sound from all of 6 channels but in the Asus control panel, only the left and right speakers make any sound. I have the soundcard set to output through SPDIF to the digital device.

I've been looking for a solution for ages, i've tried reinstalling the soundcard, disabling the onboard sound etc, all to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions here? it's weird how windows recognizes all the channels but the soundcard doesn't.
