Whatever, it seems that a new family of diving birds related to Hesperornis has been named; Brodavidae includes one genus, Brodavis, and four species that lived in North America and Asia during the latest Cretaceous, being the most recent hesperornithiforms known. Interestingly, some of them they lived in freshwater (although they are not the first freshwater hesperornithiforms known), and were seemingly able to fly.

I am assuming that fresh water species were generally smaller than sea inhabitants? Especially if they could fly as mentioned.

I would assume that too. At least they should be much less robust...

I was a weird kid then, I always said Hesperornis when asked if there were sea-going dinosaurs :>
