Hot tap in kitchen

    Hi all,

I've been noticing that the hot tap in my kitchen isn't letting much water out at all, i have to turn the knob a couple of times before it starts coming out and by the time I can't turn it around anymore, theres not half the flow that is coming from the cold tap...any suggestions on what this could be?

Could it be water pressure or is it the tap knob settings that need to be adjusted to let water out sooner?

If it is that I need to make readjustments to the tap, I've attached a picture of what the tap looks like with the knob off - could someone point me to how I would readjust??

    Any help much appreciated!!

If you unscrew the guts of the tap and remove the circlip on the spindle you will be able to strip it down and greese the splines and o rings, re-assemble in reverse and it should do its business. ;)

Ohh!! turn the hot water off first.

It sounds to me you need to fit a new insert. The brass bit under the head. You can get them in most providers.

I 2nd this they are not expensive, bring the tap knob with you as it might not fit the new insert so you might need to get the knob too.

I would imagine that once the OP has them out, the extra 2 minutes taken to greese the spline could save them hassle and a few quid.
