HTC Sensation - factory reset?

My phone has been acting very strange lately, crashing, stalling and generally laggy. I have just backed up everything so basically want to do a factory reset / wipe & reinstall. Can anyone tell me how I do this please?

Coincidentally, my Sensation has gone wonky over the last few days :mad: It's rebooted itself four times during phone calls since yesterday - even after a factory reset.

Hopefully the forthcoming ICS update will help

When is the ICS update due does anyone know?

I updated and its a lot better but still does strange things sometimes.

Often I click the home button and it take a screenshot. Anyone any idea why it would do that? It was doing it yesterday after the wipe and reinstall despite no screenshot apps beign installed.

Then also sometimes I click back or home and I get the white screen with HTC in green - for a good few seconds until the home screen loads again.

The ICS update has been released in "the Nordic countries" so far: -http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/08/htc-ics-sense-nordic/ so hopefully it'll come here soon.


The screenshot thing has happened to me for months. Plenty of people online have it. Some say it's a bug, others say it's the power button sticking, bloody annoying whatever it is!

And the white screen with HTC on normally indicates Sense has restarted - again, this happens fairly often on my phone too

Cool ok so its live in Nordics which means hopefully it won't be too much longer until it comes here. Is it the networks that Roll it out? 01 can be kinda slow, hopefully you can just download the file from somewhere and run it.

Interesting about the power button sticking, often i have to click power twice before it comes on for me to unlock it...

Fingers crossed the new sense on ics will be a bit more stable..

Since I have done this reset I think my phone is worse. Sense crashes all the time now, and the battery life is horrific. At 8am this morning it was 100%, by 12pm it was at 46% - I had a 2 minute call and good few whatsapp messages in this time but that was it. Grrrr...

You know, sometimes, as much as I really hate them, I just think life with an iPhone would be so so much easier...

My battery life seems to be better since I reset the phone but it reboot during a call after it. It's still taking the odd screenshot at times when I press the home button :mad:

Hang on in there for ICS - that's what I'm doing

Ok battery life seems to have got way way better now whatever I have done, but sent is crashing about half the time I click the home button. Beyond ridiculous at this stage. Any suggestions?

I'm running ICS on my Sensation for the last month or so and it's really stable.
Battery life is quite good too. Took it off charge this morning around 8am, and it's still at 88% at 19:46.
ICS is very slick, I don't have a single issue with it.

Updated my Sensation (on Meteor Bill Pay) and works fine, although tbh it looks more cosmetic, no WOW factor... but still every little helps
