    How much does it cost in total to repeat a year?

    AFAIK the cost is dependent on how many modules you repeat.

    Why are you asking,, exams aren't for 2 months yet:D.

    Its a long story! :rolleyes: Ya I am just wondering because the fees office told me they used to calculate it depending on the amount of modules you repeat but that it has changed now, now there is a set fee of 1600 euro. But I didnt think of asking them if thats on top of the normal tuition fees etc.

    Are you sure? I thought they changed it recently so that there was just one cost. They did away with the external repeating option too, no?

    Was going to give advice but I heard something about them changing the system recently alright to my info is likely outdated.

    But if you have to repeat due to being out sick during the year, you can have the fees waived. This used to be the case anyway. Of course you will have to provide proper evidence of this (certs etc) and it goes to a committee to decide if you're eligible.

    I'm afraid I can't add anything more to that regarding fees.

    Do you reckon you'll have to repeat the year because you'll fail the summer exams?.

    As somebody repeating myself, I'd say do EVERYTHING in your power to not waste a year doing it all over again. You'll just spend 12 months beating yourself up over not working hard enough, not to mention being bored beyond belief. And also, it sucks when all your friends are a year ahead.

    It's over a month from exams, which is plenty of time to get a pass in 99% of modules. (Unless of course you've spring exams because of PEP)

    The repeat fee was €2350 this year but we all got a letter in Jan saying it had been reduced to €1600 again.
    (Oh and yes - thats the total fee. Which took me AGES to find out last yr!) And no external repeating btw. Well i sort of am but its the same fee regardless.

    Unless you really love college life and enjoy slaving away in awful part-time jobs to pay thousands for an extra year in NUIG - just work your ass off and pass now rather than later. All that money could be spent on a car, J1 etc.
