    Hey guys,

I'm interested in starting a new sport and have always loved baseball. I live in the Maynooth area and by the looks of it The Black Sox are the closest team to me.

Any advice on getting started? Do I need my own gear etc? I have been away from competitive sport for 2 years now but have played rugby/gaelic/hurling before that so am use to training and playing matches at all hours.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey
Blacksox training is happening in Shanganagh park in Shankill on the 24th. This is my first year playing in the league so I'm no real authority on things but if you stall along I'm sure we could help you out or give you a feel for the sport. Gearwise a glove would be ideal but someone might have a spare.
Is that not a fair distance from you in Maynooth though?

Hey thanks for the replies! Shanganagh might be a bit of a trek alright (On the blacksox website it mentioned the Pheonix Park for training) but sure it's do-able!

The Phoenix Park training has been (and will be I'm sure) for during the season mid-week. The weekend of 24th is a one off pre season session.
