    Ello,

Just wondering does anyone actually use this pedal. Bought it years ago and dug it out to play around with.

Anyone have any interesting settings? Looked up a few YouTube videos but there is an clear gap with pedal settings and the sound I'm hearing.

Anyhow, rare enough pedal so not sure if anyone has had any fun with one.

    Syb-3, stupid auto correct.

Yeah, I use one of these all the time. You can hear it in action here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hBR6ARci0s

The settings used in this tune are (approximately)

Effect/Direct - Around the same setting
    Freq - 11 'clock / Res - 9 o'clock ish
    Sens - 1 o'clock
    Mode 1

The trick with using this pedal effectively is to make your playing more defined than usual. It is monophonic so you need to keep all other strings muted, even accidental hand movements will make the thing goes nuts, which can sound cool sometimes :D

Also, I find that by keeping the 'sens' around 1 o'clock you will get the best results for playing a bass line with some movment in it, so long as you're extra careful about muting strings and you keep your attack deliberate and sharp.

There is definately an upper speed limit for this thing, it will not handle very fast passages with any great accuracy. But you can get it to sound very cool for funk style lines. I also use it with a distortion pedal (using modes 8 or 9 before the distortion in a chain) to create an upper layer of very lush fizzy distortion that sounds very smooth and rich.

You will find that Modes 10 and 11 are rubbish. They are supposed to be envelope filters but just don't seem to do anything. One of the quirks of the pedal.

If you use mode 4 and turn down both the freq and res controls you will get a fairly ok -1 octave effect.

My best advice is to mess around with the Sens control, keep it lower than you might be inclined to do and you will get the most usable sounds.
