Can't Access Any External Media

    Hey all,

Currently having a problem with my laptop where I can't access any external media. DvD Drive, External HDs, External Flash Drives etc. Tried all and they all give me the error "Access Denied". With the DvD Drive when I try to eject it it says it can't because it's in use. Tried restarting my laptop but that made no difference. Only thing I could think of is malware but I've run one anti virus and two malware scans and they turned up nothing. This specific problem isn't the easiest to google heh.

    Any suggestions? Running Win 7.

Probably a drive letter conflict. Go into Start>Right Click on Computer>Manage. Now click on Disk Management and change each problematic drives letter. You can do this by right clicking the drive and change letters. If you installed anything to another drive such as D:\ for e.g and change the letter you will need to update shortcuts pointing to the drive.

Found the entry but there's no Lower or Upper Filters.

Its quite possible there is something running on the machine conflicting with Windows drive lettering. What anti virus/internet security software are you using? Also what CD/DVD burner software do you use?

McAfee Enterprise. Don't have any burning software. Last time I used an external drive was about 2 weeks ago, everything worked fine then. Can't think of any programs I've installed since then.
