    Week 8:

    2011 NCAA Week 12

    Oklahoma @ Baylor
    a.k.a "The Waco Miracle"

    Background
Given the day that's in it, it's probably a good idea to remind ourselves just why the Washington Redskins gave up three first round picks and an additional second round pick to make sure they got their mitts on Robert Griffin III.

Griffin had been turning in miraculous performances all year, at one point having more touchdown passes than incompletions near mid-season (just think about that for a minute...)

And while he was capturing headlines, he hadn't quite captured our imagination as a Heisman winner or a #2 overall draftpick. Not until the #5 Oklahoma Sooners rolled into town, a team Baylor had never beaten before in it's history.

As is a developing pattern in any classic game I seem to post, there is late drama in this one, although with the legend of RGIII at an all time high, it's entirely predictable - Griffin down on one knee, hand in the air with the crowd around him jumping on their feet.

Once the pandemonium had died down just a notch, a prophetic chant broke out from the Bears faithful. Just one simple word stuck on repeat.

    "Heisman! Heisman! Heisman! Heisman!....."
