I need help to get over this

I was involved briefly with a man. He was all over me, got what he wanted, then wrecked my head with lies and empty promises to keep me on the back burner. Or perhaps he was setting me up on purpose to let me down and too cowardly to say what his true feelings were. More crap in what I can see as lies were issued upon leaving probably to keep me sweet and to leave things open for the future.

I have no problem with rejection but the roundabout way that he dealt with things that got to me. I always appreciate honesty.

I'm not pining over this man because I know I got a lucky escape but in dealing with this man I made to feel low and worthless only good enough for shagging and lies. My confidence was destroyed.

The answer is simple but not easy.

You allowed him to treat you in a manner that eroded your confidence, something that is near impossible to recognise when you are in the situation.

Learn from it, regain your confidence, it will return, and forgive yourself for being such a sucker. It happens people all the time, remember, he's the assh0le and you're well shot of him, so keep it that way. Men like him sometimes try to worm their way back in with manipulation if they think they can, maybe for a shag, or simply to just mess with your mind.

Either way, you are the captain of your ship, be kind to yourself and give men a break untill you are confident enough to be assertive in a relationship.

There are some on line courses for free that you can do to boost your confidence and help with self esteem and recovery after a relationship wrecks your self confidence.

I can't post a link as it is up to you to find one that helps.

I hope you feel better soon, remember, you had a lucky escape and now you can work on yourself.

    Take care.
