Anyone on here using the SATLink WS-6908 satellite meter. Need to get a new meter, cant really justify the 400€ on a horizon meter? Do these do the job ok?

I have the 6906 meter and I cannot fault it.
Its a great piece of kit for the price (~100 euro)
I have used it to align and realign numerous dishes ,setup my motorised dish and also my multisat system.
Its easy to use ,has alot of functions and does everything that the vast majority of people need.

That's even cheaper than the 6908. did you buy off ebay? If so let me know as i'm getting dubious now buying certain stuff off there as buyers say they are in Uk or Ireland and it turns out they are in China or somewhere different!

I had one when i was doing installs. I stupidly lent it out when i gave up installing systems (Mainly foreign set ups) and got a full time job, never got it back and dont know where the guy is now that borrowed it! Starting to do a few installs for people every now and then now and a lot of people are looking for FTA setups now the changeover to soarview is happing and deflectors are being switched off.

Cant justify the cost of a new horizon currently.

The Satlink is more than adequate for doing FTA setups.
I installed a Lidl setup for my uncle at the weekend, had the signal peaked and setup in under 2 minutes.

I have stored a good few channels on almost every receivable satellite in Ireland ,so its just a matter of choosing the satellite ,then a channel and move the dish until you get a lock and picture.Easy.

The one gripe I have with the meter is that the display can be difficult to read in bright sunlight ,apart from that it does everything I need.
The battery on it is very good too .

I bought mine from China on AlibabaExpress, but they are being sold on Ebay now for less.

like i say ,, Not profesional..look at the minute 6.23.. one hand HOLDING THE METER..one hand moving the dish.
I many situations i need my 2 hands to play and tide the dish or just to hold myself on the roof or on the ladder..i don't have to hold my meter with the hand, the display it facing up.:)
