The unnecessary jokey bits kinda muddled that post up but in short, ask your insurer.

Sorry to hear about your accident, but the medical bills will be covered by yourself first, but when you claim the insurance will cover them. (I'm currently in the process of claiming after hit and run with a taxi on myself as a pedestrian)

But as for the 110K BMW i'd assume it was new then but i always thought you must get 1 years road tax with a new car when registering it.

So generally after accident if she had to go to hospital A&E to check if she is all-right or not, she will have to on the spot, and will only be refunded by insurance company of a driver whose fault was the accident?

Can't the hostpial send a bill straight to the insurance company?

One would assume Mammy would only go to hospital if there was actually something wrong with her. As such, they would pay. If she's just going for a check up as a result of the accident, they could dispute the cost however may well not.

The cost of the hospital will be €100 (public A&E of course) so its not gonna break the bank, but also they don't send the bill until later in the year so when you get it just send it onto your insurance company.

Also I'm assuming here that your taking her to the hospital rather than your local GP. If you go to the GP it could be a different story.

    get a lawyer
you will have to pay the doctors bills etc until you can claim it back off his insurance (if he has any) dont have any dealings with him let the lawyers sort this out. Lucky he rear ended you as he has little excuse for getting out of it, but by the sounds of him he will try

That's not how this thread is coming across, TBH.

Dunno but if I happened to run in to the back of someone and I was at fault and they wanted me to pay their bills, no problem. If they go to make a claim later, fair enough. Just for hospital bills to make sure they're OK, I'd have no problem pulling out my wallet.
