as per another thread, i'm gonna buy a new MBP this year. I have an old ibook g4 that i bought second hand last year to see if i like the OS and i may want to sell it (although i doubt its worth much... 100 quid?) trouble is i didnt get any restore discs with it, is there a way to remove any personal data without having to wipe?

Deleting the user account should wipe most of your personal data. You can do this in System Prefs > Accounts. You'll have to create and be logged in another account first.
