Hi, i'm wondering how one now goes about registering as a trainer to train etc.

I have the train the trainer cert and over 16 years exp in the area i want to train.

Just after i got the cert, all that trouble with FAS and fetac started and the national register of trainers was disbanded, so how would i go about it now, any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Maybe something like the "CompTIA CTT+ Certification" if you are not doing a degree. Not sure hope it helps....................

There is no register for Trainers instead FAS and Private Providers seeking people or organisations to run courses usually state in the tender documents what they require.

For the delivery of FETAC training at Level 5 or higher in the VEC sector or any state funded organisation they will require a degree in the relevant area, registeration with the Teaching Council and possibly a teaching qualification at Level 8 or higher. Since FAS will be part of SOLAS as will the FE colleges then it is expected that the Teaching Council requirements will be the standard requirement in the coming years. In areas where there is no degree then the Depart of Ed and Skills have issued circular letters stating what they accept.

The FETAC Level 6 Train the Trainer is generally accepted by private providers as they set their own requirements but they may be required to meet the requirements of the organisations they are tendering to for business eg FAS.
