Star Wars magazines over the years

Just wondering if many of you have been into the countless magazines that have been devoted to Star Wars over the years. I've been collecting the Insider since the mid-90s when it was just the American edition. Since the UK version started up I've picked up almost every issue and they are probably pride of place among my collection. While it can be patchy enough at times, there have been some great features, articles, fiction, interviews in it. I find that it keeps me in touch with a lot of things that I otherwise might have missed out on.

Does anyone ever remember a brilliant quarterly magazine from the mid-90s called Star Wars Galaxy Magazine, which was published by Topps? It ran for 13 issues and was a real high point for me. Each issue came bagged with a couple of Topps trading cards and the features in it were of a really high standard. There were free comics given away too which was very cool and because it was published in the mid-90s there wasn't a feckin Jar Jar or Jake Lloyd to be seen anywhere! If anyone missed this mag I would definitely recommend picking up some issues on ebay.

It was replaced by the inferior Galaxy Collector, which concentrated more on toys but I still dig out the original mags and get a great buzz from reading them.

I consider those years before the prequels to be a real golden era for Star Wars publishing and Galaxy magazine is the proof of the pudding.
