Hi, the last few days i,ve been getting a bad sound coming from the E string, what i mean is, when you play, its very wonky and not distinctive like it should be, rest of strings are ok, could it be the inside workings? The bass has active pick ups, the string it self is sitting ok on the guitar.

It could be a faulty string, or perhaps the pick up needs adjustment.
