SGS 2, GPS Bull$hit...

    Lads,


    the gps, or a-gps whatever its called is absolute c0ck on my sgs2.. am in the uk and need it for a long road trip

    anyway to fix this, i did the fast fix but no difference, do i need a new kernel?

    no idea on this stuff.

    google maps just says waiting for gps... etc

    no signals

    They are all the same even the Galaxy S. I have tried different Roms in the past and it makes no differ.

    Think it's the radio (also known as Baseband our modem) that can effect GPS, rather than the kernel.
    There is a long list of ones for SGS2 over at XDA, if you're rooted you can flash them from your sd card in recovery. If not you can flash them with Odin on your PC (different versions of each file for different method)

    Hi carbon, im not sure what the problem is, but I was across the pond last week and "needed" GPS and had no data roaming. It took a while to get satellites (not using aGPS) but after 10 minutes it did pick it up and held a signal. Are you not able to connect at all? Is there a way to speed this up while not using data?

    Im using a SGS2 and Android 2.3.5 (not rooted)
