Does anyone know of any car breakers in Mayo (preferably Toyota parts) or anybody breaking a 98 corolla. I'm after 2 back shocks for my car.

    Thanks guys :)

You could try Dempseys Dismantlers they are in Ballina out past the golf club on the way to Bonniconlon. Have a look at their facebook page and they usually have info on what cars they are breaking or you could search for the part you want.

There is a place in Grange in sligo which does Toyota, cant remember the name but its in the yellow pages under car dismantlers. They are usually quiet good.

You could try someone on donedeal, adverts.ie or even ebay. I bought a fuel door for a celica from someone off donedeal. Dont just pin all your hopes on car dismantlers locally, price around.

George Simpson is the toyota specialist

Have you tried pricing 2 new shocks RoseMarie? Just to get an idea what they would cost?

If no luck with Simpson, try Northwest dismantlers in Grange, Sligo or Traynors up north - they do a drop off in Charlestown every wednesday morning.

Rear shocks for a Corolla 1998 should be available from a motor factors for about €70-80 each. They are one of a number of parts that I wouldn't be bothered putting in second hand. You may not be getting anything much better than what you have and they may be partially seized from being left up, out in the open in a breakers yard and therefore, fail almost immediately you start using them.

    Just my 2c!
