Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice on fixing my internal microphone on my laptop as it seems to have just stopped working.

I noticed while trying to use Skype for the first time in ages, no sound output at all, so I opened Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound and then Recording Devices. I only have one option here, 'Conexant High Definition Audio' which I know is my sound card, so I'm guessing this is my internal microphone aswell. The mic levels are normal, it's not muted, so I figure the drivers must be out of date, so I download the latest drivers and still no luck. It just isnt responding at all. My speakers are fine, I can see and hear others in Skype, they can see me but not hear me. I think I've googled all that can be googled on the subject as I didnt want to bother Boards.ie if it was a simple solution, but now I need the expertise of this forum.

    Any advice at all?
