Is it possible to set up an American bank account?

I live in Ireland and I would like to use it for sites that do not deal with cash currency conversions as they offer a far better rate from Euro to USD.

Or if not, any other tips on converting to USD as I will be converting €10,000 in the next 12 months.

    Cheers for the help.

First of all i don't recommend you to open US bank account as you need to pay commission on holding money in every US bank accounts which is not fair and relatively high (depend on the amount) .

I dont think you get a great deal on converting € to $ in there.

The best place for exchange / conversion is the Travel agent located in the Dublin city centre , at corner of henry St. he has the best rate in the country.
    Good luck

As far as I remember , the bank charges commissions on every amount less than $3000 , I don't exactly know about the scenario If your saving goes above this .
