When I try to listen to the Radio 5 live stream during the race while watching RTL it says "unfortunately due to rights restrictions we cannot broadcast this part of the programme".I tried tune in radio on phone and its the same.
I cant pick up the AM radio transmission either.I can get it poorly at night.

    10803 H 22000 5/6

Just wondering who you are getting your broadband from.
I am using "Three Broadband" as its the only broadband option that I have.

    That's what I don't like about a motorised setup...

I was watching RTL, and listening to R5 Live, from 28.2, through the network on my laptop.

RTL was about 5 sec ahead of R5 live, wasn't too bad, because they weren't always talking about what was being shown, except for the start, and crashes etc.
Any ideas on how to workaround this?

I tried it through Vodafone sim in a phone using the Your Muze app,but I couldn't get it there either.I dont have a Vodafone 3G signal.
I think it was blocked for last weeks F1 also.
It would be a perfect solution if I could get it.

I can get BBC R5L using a DAB radio. I know its not an option for most but for anyone that lives near the border its well worth a try.

Didn't watch Malaysia grand prix live but watched the Australian one last week and the timing between the DAB radio and RTL was perfect. There was no need to use radio delay like there is when R5L are covering a match.

i think if you use tunein radio app that works. I listened to old firm on a windows laptop via tunein. The bbc i player wont work though.

Thanks to all of you who have taken the time and effort to contribute to this post.

I watched the F1 this weekend (sadly I hadn't read or known about this post yesterday) and by luck tried RTL on line via laptop, picture & sound OK (can put up with the ads, just like old ITV days) and used the satellite to get BBC Radio 5 live. The set up was fine, it's great that this option is open to those of us who refuse to pay for $ky.

Am thinking of getting linked up to 19 degrees to watch RTL on the satellite via tv. I've an internet Reciva type radio, I got the same announcement as some of you "due to rights restrictions, we are unable to broadcast this program in your area..."

Not living near the border, unable to try DAB. Are there any other ways of getting BBC Radio 5 live other than through the satellite?

Try the tunein radio app or the tunein.com website for Live 5 when you are outside UK.
