We made the big switch to Saorview a couple of weeks back and while the young lad is having withdrawal symptoms from not being able to pause the TV, or have Scooby Doo on tap, we don't really miss the extra two or three hundred stations that were once at our disposal.

There are a lot of stations out there that are free-to-air; it's just a matter of exploration.

However, one thing we have discovered is that if you don't place the digital aerial in the exact spot required for maximum signal strength, then the lip movements of the talking heads on the screen and the actual sounds being made will be out of sync. And the novelty factor soon wears off that.

Plus he went from hundreds of channels to 6,take it he didn't realise that his existing satellite equipment can still be used for fta.
