So...............who's going to have a better rookie season ?

Both had great seasons last year and now they enter the realm of the NFL. Both should have great careers and it will be exciting to watch them develop.

I'll stick up a poll, but you can hold off on your vote until after their destinations are confirmed, in the meanwhile...............discuss ;)

or should it be Tebow v RGIII :pac:

Better rookie season, Luck or RGIII ? 17 votes

Depends who RG3 goes to. If he goes to the browns, he's fked. I think Luck won't have a great rookie season with the Colts and RG3 could potentially do some great things if he goes to Miami and could do well with the Redskins. He'd find it hard if he went to the Seahawks. I think what the Colts need to do is what the Panthers did for Newton: Get him 2 proper tights ends and bring in a couple more receivers. Of course the Colts already have one of the best in the game at tight end but another one couldn't hurt at all. They'll also have to get a good running game. Make it easy on the rookie and he can achieve great things.

I'm guessing Luck will have a better season.

Luck is NFL ready and will have a good first season. I'd be shocked if RGIII comes near matching him. I really like RGIII and hope he goes on to have a great career but I think he needs to be looked after his first season. He has to bulk up a bit.

Guy I'm thinking more and more about is Brandon Wheeden. I think he will go a lot earlier than people think. I really think he has a shot at becoming a top NFL quarterback.

Luck though may be an elite Quarterback in time. He has everything you would want and is the most certain first pick in the draft in quite a while.

Definitely agree with this - wouldn't be surprised to see him end up in Kansas where he would have a real shot at becoming what they thought Matt Cassel would be. If Weeden was 5 years younger, he'd be talked about as a top 10 pick, definitely ahead of Ryan Tannehill anyway. If he ends up in Kansas or Seattle, he'd probably be the favourite to be the most impressive rookie QB. If it were possible, I'd place a bet on someone trading up to the late first/early second to make sure they get him.

I really cant understand why Tannehill is so highly rated coming into the draft. he never impressed me playing for A&M and while all the experts talk about how much he has impressed after converting from WR but surely the bigger question is why was he playing wideout in the first place? He strikes me as another Blaine Gabbert type that will be really hyped up in the predraft but wont be able to live up to the expectations.

Obviously not going to happen now, but why would Seattle have been a bad place for RG3? He'd have a top 10 defence, great running game, good OL and some good receiving options. Probably his best situation.

Give me Russell Wilson over Brandon Weeden. Wilson would be a top 5 pick for me if he was a few inches taller. I'm rooting hard for him to succeed.

Which player or which team the player plays for? Both mutually exclusive and both not mutually exclusive. But arguements will be had for both. I'll wait and see which team each lands at Luck obviously at the Colts but see if they can add anything at FA.

I reckon the Browns will take a flyer on Wheedon for some reason!

Colts had contract talks with Pierre Garcon over the weekend and today and it looks like he's gone too. I think the Colts will do well to win more than 4 or 5 games this season. Still, i'm excited to see Luck play, i had clung on to some slim hope that Manning would stay even though i know in the long run its for the best for the Colts a new era begins :(

I think if the season ended today then I'd find it very hard to separate them, both are having amazing/entertaining seasons.

I'm not going to start picking out peoples quotes, I'm not trying to start an argument. I just think both players performed better then most here expected them to.

Actually reading back again, some people made pretty strange predictions that did come to pass. For example Cleveland taking Weeden. Your predictions were on the mark, apart from the RGIII not keeping up with Luck one. Think I jumped the gun a bit, apologies.
