Chair Covers

I'm shocked at the price to rent these!

I was going to buy them, but when I factored in postage costs it was way, way out of my price range.

Does anyone have 200-220 chair covers that they would like to sell?

Or can any company do a wedding in October this year that includes 200-220 chair covers, sashes and a fairylight backdrop for a reasonable price? (as in not €650-€1100 please).

PM me if you can help, thanks a million!

The price range you have mentioned doesnt seem that unreasonable considering what you are getting

Sorry, but I think anything over €600 to basically borrow material for a couple of hours is shocking, and I think that some companies are still overcharging. We'll have to agree to disagree.

I agree that they are overcharging.

Friend of mine got married in september,500 Eur for the fairy lights alone, you can pay anywhere form 1.50 to 3.50 per chair cover depending on if the venue hire them to you or you get an external supplier.Sashs are usually part of the price for the venue unless you are looking for something they do not have.

Have you spoken to the hotel?

Most can be persuaded to include them as part of the package.

The hotel doesn't do them, Sleepy - I assumed they would too.

Anyway thanks for your replies - think I have found somewhere that will do them for less than €600.

Mods can get rid of this thread if ye want, cheers.

Its a service like any other and 600e for rental of covers, backdrop and 1 or 2 other things seems to be the going rate though. a quick google confirms

whether you think that price is worth it is a different matter.

The hotel may sub the rental of those out so they never have to worry about them in which case youre asking them to incur a cost of 600e (or whatever rate they get it at) . Theyll either have worked that into their margins or not. Whether they give it to you or not as part of their package will indicate which.

Thanks for all that info - as I said I've no problem with anything up to and including €600, but I was quoted anything from €900 - €1100 (and that didn't include delivery charge, the supplier was less than 10 miles away from the venue), I just thought that was a bit steep!

in the days of the internet, when you can search comparative price elsewhere in under 60 seconds, pricing at up to 50% more for what looks like the same product does seem pricey on the face of it.

If 1 price is near the other, you could understand they might be cutting thir margins to be cheaper then other guy, but for that kind of cost difference (600-900=50% more), Id be ringing them up and asking them is there any reason why they charge so much.

Their loss if theres no reason.

Try http://www.eventdimensions.com/ I met Darren at a wedding fair in the Marriot and they do the different chair covers/sash's and the fairy light background. Dont know the prices but cant be dearer than €1100 (madness price)

OP if you think it's so expensive, why are you bothering with chair covers? You don't need them and personally I think chair covers look horrible. Since your venue doesn't have chair covers then presumably their chairs look decent enough anyway and so they aren't needed.

I think a lot of things are expensive, it doesn't mean I'm not going to get them. The venue doesn't supply them, and their chairs, while perfectly fine on their own for a meeting or dinner dance, look very plain for a wedding. I think it's down to personal choice. The point I was making was that I couldn't understand why there was such a vast difference in price for the same service. I thought that, as someone said, "in the days of the internet", where you can compare things immediately, that most companies would be around the same price.

Anyway, as I said, I got someone at a reasonable rate.

Also thank you for that link Borderfox, I hadn't come across them in my search.
