hi there.I have a question related to medical bills.I'm on back to education allowance, because of the nature of female health issues I had to go to doctor yesterday.I paid for the visit 140 euro.In next month I have to go to the doctor for check up. It's 75% of my weekly social payment. Is maybe somewhere some institution where I can claim my bills? thanks for all response...

You cannot claim the cost of a doctor visit back.
Apply for a medical card/GP visit card.

Does medical card cover specialist visits? or only the GP visits?
    thanks

Search for medical card on citizensinformation.ie

If the specialist visit was a referral from a GP and considered necessary, then the medical card will cover it. Generally, if it was an optional visit that you didn't require for your health, it doesn't.

GP's can refer you to a consultant as either a Private or a Public Patient - the choice is your's, obviously the Public route is very very long and you pay to go the other way
