What To Do With Old Car

hope this hasnt been a thread before .....

I have an old car (its a 2000 reg) and recently my wife got a new car so I inherited her old car (why does she get the new one? but thats a thread for another day). Anyway, we now have a 3rd car that no-one drives. Its in good-ish condition. Showing its age, but still running. My son cant drive it, as he has a provo licence and the insurance co wont allow him as a named driver on it. And I dont want to sell it (I reckon I would only get 100 or 200 for it anyway).

I was thinking of donating it to some school as a project, or raffle it for a local charity, or convert it to a beach buggy .......

So....any novel ideas what to do with old car? Anyone tried this before? Any pitfalls to watch out for?

Its a Daewoo Lanos, 4 door, 1.3l, and 200k on the clock

Get son to get the full licence? Course then you have to pay for road tax and probably loads on insurance.

Donating it might be an option, if the car is reliable. Don't want it to seem you're dumping a lemon!

Would you not just put it up on done deal for 500 and see what you get?

It's worth more than €200 anyway. You'd get €500 - €800 if it has a current NCT and a bit of tax.

Would you just put it on donedeal and be done with it. Raffles can't be ran just because you feel like it, I can't see a school wanting it as a "project" and converting it to a beach buggy is ridiculous.

Id love to see someone converting a daewoo lanos into a beach buggy! Only thing they can be converted into is a block of scrap!

Take it apart fully and see how its put together? Its what I'd do

Hot rod it, auto cross it, turn it into a ute!

Stock car racing. Ages start from 13 up so you and your son could have a weekend toy. It'll need a roll cage and the windows replaced or taken out.
