I'm heading to Frankfurt on Monday, is there anywhere that you can recommend for a Monday or Tuesday within the city for a few drinks that would be lively?

    Thanks.

get in a taxi and say Saxenhausen. its an area packed bars door to door in a 4 to 5 block area. its right in the hearth of the city just south of the river

Cool. I'll check it out. If there any particular bar in Saxenhausen that I should try to not miss?

    Thanks.

there was 1 that was in a basement as far as i remember with a great rock band (metallica in german sounds fantastic) , but the area is so compact it easy to just wander around bar hopping

In Frankfurt you should check the Cocoon Club of Sven Väth, its worth a visit. To travel cheap in Germany you can use this resource for a mitfahrgelegenheit (rideshares).
    English language version: mitfahrangebot.com
To travel by train and airplane is expensive due to the german high ticket prices.
If you are in Frankfurt don´t forget to eat a so called döner kebap with or without meat. It´s very common all over Germany and available all over the country.
