    Hi we got a big unit from Ikea and our TV (40 inche LCD)'s stand is too broad meaning it won't fit. The depth of the unit is only 7 inches while the stand is 12 inches.

    I am wondering can I buy a stand for the TV... the stand is just a plastic thingy for a Samsung TV

    I wouldn't recommend replacing the stand with anything inferior as it increases the risk of the TV falling over.

    Maybe use a wider piece of wood screwed to the unit to allow the stand to sit safely on it. or a wall mount kit.

    Failing that change the unit.
