    Hi

I have a Dell Laptop which had Windows XP installed on it. It came preinstalled and has a license key on the base but no installation cd

The OS has gotten corrupted and when I boot it just loads to a grey screen.

Is there anywhere I can get a copy of Windows XP installation cd at this stage or what do you recommend doing ? Its Windows XP home edition

Could I install Windows 7 over the top ?

Depending on the model, you can restore a Dell computer to its factory default settings via Ctrl+F11 at the POST screen (Dell logo). Note: all personal settings and files will be overwritten/wiped. It'll go back to the state it came out of the box first.

Windows 7? Again this depends on your model or rather the specifications.

Try to arrange a bootable cd of same operating system and repair it while booting. Hope it works.
