I'd never stand in a the way of a lad with money and an intention to spend.

Go buy it. Enjoy it. Lovely bike.

I'd go compact. It's not a decision for life. If for some reason you find yourself getting frustrated with a 60kph ish max speed on the flat :), then you can always sell the chainset on here and purchase a standard double for yourself.

Great buy at that money! I took one for a spin when I was shopping for a bike, was very very nice, and good spec on it too, pity it was just outside my budget in the bike shop I was looking in @ €1550, I would have snapped it up had it been a little cheaper! Go for it I say!

It's outside my budget too, honestly won't be able to afford for pedals/shoes for 2/3 weeks!

Go for it! Lovely bike, use it and enjoy the spring and summer!

Get it and enjoy the weather. The money you then don't waste doing other things will pay for your pedals etc.

Not that I am aware of. My LBS is supposed to contact me when they are available but I'm not holding my breath.

Update - Went in to buy, there was only a 56 there. 56 was slightly too big so they are calling Cube for me on Monday to see if they have a 53.
It's possible i might have to wait until mid April if they don't have one available straight away. :(

Ah that's a pain in the stones innit. Can they not sell you something else?? Zillions of bikes out there, each as good as the next.

I kinda like this bike ALOT!, willing to see what happens on Monday. I'll take it from there then, not looking good tho.
