The Polka Dot has moved to May 12th this year.

Polka Dot Fada Route is a serious challenge with 11 climbs (classified by map my Ride)and a few other shocks. This is a ideal prep for the W200 just a few weeks later.

Polka Dot Beag route with just the climb of Maumtrasna included is a great introductory spin for anyone in their 1st season of sportives.

    Link should be alright now

So if you want to ride roads that have been used in Pro Tours of Ireland,The Race around Ireland, and the Ras and the Junior Tour( though most of the time they have travelled in the opposite direction). Come West.

As the newest member of the Western Lakes CC, I have to say that they're a great bunch and there is always a bit of crack around.

I'm new to the 'whole cycling thing' so I'll only be doing the 80k, so any other newbies out there come down and we'll have our own newbie group.. We might even stop for, ahem, refreshments on the way...;)

Any chance of a non-facebook link to the routes?

Also information on start point, time, food stops & support would be helpful as I can't see them on the website. Might be judt me but can't see any information??

You are correct the info not there. I not directly involved this year but this is what the Organising Crew have told me

Sign on Westernlakes Cycling Centre Kilmaine Rd(N84) Ballinrobe (look out for the water towers its under them.
Opens at 7.30am .Roll out at 9am. Mass start
There will be lead cars and Broomwagons on both routes with First Aid support on both aswell. Looks like we will have Moto riders as well
Route is marked with signs at turns or route splits and wlpd fada/beag on the road every 10km approx. Main road junctions are marshalled.
80km Food Stop at 35km approx. Water/fruit will be available at different junctions
The site of the main stop has moved a few km as the pub we normally using is still under renovation and we may need to move up the road

    80km

    160km Stops at 48 82(main) and 107 approx.
With the change to the Main feedstop the 160 riders will have to back track for about 1km to get back on the route shown on here
Also for logistical reasons there is a slight change to the route around Ballintubber.

    Hope this helps

    Earlybird Online entry closes today.
As Ryan discovered in Bog Week 2 day the West is worth a visit and WLCC dont do a bad job at organising events.
So why not try something new we only 3 hours from the Pale on the motorway;)
