    Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice about how to go about finding spiritual guidance. I have been interested in spirituality for a long time but all my info comes from books so far. Id like to take it to the next level.

I follow a sort of new/new age spirituality, one where being in the world is very important, like having a job, relationships while being in touch with the underlying God/Spirit/Love. Sorry for the poor description.

    I appreciate any help.

When I read your post, the phrase 'If you see the buddha on the road, kill him' came to mind. I think it might have been your mention of a guru. :)

Spirituality is a personal journey, and if you are at the stage where you want to branch out and discover new aspects, then that is what you do. Go to spiritual meetings, or circles, find out where meditation groups meet in your area. Community centres can be a good resource to start with, and of course online, but many of the classes advertised online are paid for courses and such. Maybe not what you need.

This will be like anything new you look into. At first it will seem like there is nothing out there, but once you find the first few things it will blossom and you will realise lots of stuff is going on, once youre into the 'network' of it.

But back to my initial comment about killing Buddha. :) Allow yourself to take what you need and dismiss what you dont, keep an open mind and dont become indoctrinated into one particular way of thinking. If you think you know the answers, youre probably going a little wrong and need to start again.

    Good luck.

There are hundreds of hours of excellent Spiritual Thinkers to listen to on youtube rather than reading books. You can cast your net over a very wide choice rather than looking for one person in dublin. Dip in and out to whatever resonates with you, whenever you feel like listening to it rather than attaching to one 'guru'.
Here are some that have a lot of excellent material free on youtube.

    Anthony DeMello
    Eckhart Tolle
    Mooji
    Osho
    Adyshanti
    Krishnamurti
    Byron Katie
    Abraham Hicks

Each one has different delivery of the same message.

There is a spiritual guy .. a spiritual guide/counsellor of some sort.. he deals with the christ consciousness...

pm me if you want his details.. (ill have to get them off a friend)

I also know how to find the best spiritual guru (thats made for you) in the whole world wide.. here's how:-

Walk some meters into the nearest bathroom
    open door
    walk to front of mirror
    look in mirror
    Hey presto!! Youve found him/her..

It is through learning lessons in life do we become spiritual..

When I read the word guru I have to admit I wanted to run a mile! You don't need a guru, in fact no one does. A guru is usually someone that has appointed that title to themselves out of ego. A genunine teacher of spirituality will give guidance and still allow you to find the answers or truth for youself. There are lots of classes available on all sorts of topics. You already have all the answers within yourself :)

If coming from a western sense of the word Guru, is like someone held in great reverence, bigger, better than you etc, but truthfully the word Guru, means teacher, thats all. So, spiritual Guru, is same as spiritual teacher. When you meet your Spiritual teacher you will know in your Heart. Yet show respect for all beings, Teacher Guru, siblings etc.

    Hi PastEye,

My advice to you is this. Go to your local Library and look up the Notice Board and also ask at the desk. Also find an Angel Shop in your locality as they usually know of a local Spiritual group. You could also try a Nature Shop as they usually have posters up promoting local Spiritual Groups. Look on the Net for Spiritual Groups. Good Luck and I hope you find what you're looking for. I could give you names but I'm not allowed to that here.
