Your going to need something with at least a Gt540m to get acceptable levels of detail and FPS. In its newer form its called the GT630m.

Can't find anything like that with a decent price... the 525 will run fifa decently... which would keep me happy :P although I'll keep looking for a better one...

Would there be a huge difference?

My sister had a "MSI" netbook recently, it was desperate... so the fact that this is MSI puts me off a small bit :o

Netbooks from any brand are usually desperate.

The GT540m is about 20% better than the Gt525m. The Gt525m will defiantly do you for now, but the 540m will last you longer as newer games come out.

Do note however both these cards are considered entry-middle class. For things like Fifa and Cod they'll fly, but will have more trouble with games like crysis and Metro 2033.

This is a good site to see the kind of FPS you can expect. At the bottom.http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-540M.41715.0.html

Thanks very much for the advice... I might keep my eyes open, I have a toshiba netbook in the house aswell, which has never given trouble... but the MSI one is absolute rubbish compared to it :P

Tbh I've never seen a MSI netbook, thats really not their thing, I doubt they invest heavily in that area. They built their name on gaming notebooks though, and that's what your looking for.

Fair enough! I've never heard anything about them until today... hehe :)

Would it be that much better than the toshiba to warrant paying an extra €80 though?

They seem to have almost the same spec, except the MSI has an extra 180GB in the HDD area... and the toshiba has one USB 3.0 port... other than that I can't see any difference... choices choices!! :)

Would I be better off spending that extra little bit (€599) for this i5 with Nvidia

Thanks again for the replys :)

Well up to you to decided really, if 80 euro is worth a 20% increase in graphics performance. If you were willing later on, to overclock the Gt525m, you may be able to get it up to Gt540m levels (Gt540 is actually just a higher clocked 525m).

So if staying in budget is very important then go for the Toshiba, they are a solid make as well.

On the i5 absolutely not, you'd need at least a Gt555m to go with it. The gt540m will hit a wall long before the i3.

The budget isn't a huge issue, a week or two of saving and I'll have the extra... but Toshiba is a brand I know which is the only reason I'm leaning towards it... :)

MSI were a major component and motherboard supplier for a long time before they became a big player in laptops. the MSI (wind) net book was a commercial venture, it was branded for a lot of others. LG, Medion, and asus to name a few

MSI are big in the gaming area but the laptop linked above is not from their gaming range
