Are there more ways of measuring time in song than beats and bars?

If there are 4 beats in bar, how many bars in a ______ ???

Sometimes it can be tricky to verbally explain how many bars to play something. Are there longer time measurements other that bars?

When talking about bars, you usually group them together. So you can have an 8 bar section or whatever.
These sections are given names. Traditionally a song would be broken down into A and B sections. The sections then make up what is called the form.

An example of a song form could be AABA. Where the A sections are melodically similar. If these were 8 bar sections would give a 32 bar form.

These sections may have alternative names such as chorus, verse etc... and don't necessarily have to be 8 bar sections.
