Oil - should i only get a half fill

Just a quick query. I have just got 6 quotes for oil, ranging from €0.885 to €0.95 per liter for 1000 ltr. With oil so expensive, should i get a full fill or change getting a half fill in the hope that in 3months time prices will come down.

(I'm told that oil prices are reviewed on a wednesday and friday - i.e. changes three times a week; i've also found out that the rate per liter for 1000ltr is different to the price per liter for 500, 600 or sometimes 900ltr)

I'm thinking of getting an oil fill this week, but should i rethink?

well my view is to only fill the tank with 500ltrs at at time as 1000ltrs is alot of oil to have stolan and it can happen any where.

ive spent a morning ringing around oil companys pricing only to find out the there is only bout €10 in the highest and lowest price plus for a good source I know they set there prices again each other every monday or wed.

cant see oil prices every going down to any degree in the near future.

A full tank is cheaper by almost 9 cents a litre over the 500 litre amount.

In some cases you are charged the premium amount unless you get over 900 litres.

Measure your tank level with a broom handle and calculate if you need the full 1000 or if the premium charged volume of 500 litres. Be warned, some oil merchants charge the premium up to 900 litres as I found out almost to my cost recently.

Have a look for local suppliers on cheapestoil.ie
I was thinking the same re full fill or half fill but going for half fill. It's easier for me to put ~500 on the credit card and knock it off in a few weeks than ~1000 and have the purchase fees etc when it takes a bit longer to pay off.

If you have a local residents association, you should suggest organizing 'buying weekends' where a local group comes together to buy oil, cheaper to order a tanker full of oil than 900 liters! most companies will deal with you on this basis and give some discount, has been common practice in some parts of the UK for years
