I wouldn't mind an answer to this myself if anyone has any experience.

Don't go near them my girlfriend bought a 2005 inky blue ford focus tdci with 63000 miles off those guys last year. The car started to give bother so we decided to bring the car to a local ford garage rather than taking the 200mile round journey to there premises. The ford diagnostics test showed the car was written off The airbags where deployed seat belt pretension locked etc . To beat all the car just got a 2 year NCT even do the airbag light was blanked out. The car was within warranty so money was demanded back as the car was not fit for purpose . We got legal letters sent to them but no response from the garage. The only quick way of getting the money back rather than going to court was to drop them back the car and for them to resell the car and my girlfriend get a loan of a car off them.

This issue to 7 months to resolve and get the money back

. When i brought the focus back to them they where bangen on about marks that were on the car. The car was as it was when we got it my girlfriend clocked up 900miles on the car. They were just looking for faults even do the car was written off the airbag light was blanked out they had to go on about a scratch . So that's what your dealing with DONT GO NEAR THAT GARAGE. Some person is driving that dodgy ford focus TDCI around .

Thanks GAVMAN . We have learned a serious lesson through our experience with that garage and its not something i would like to see anybody else go through .

I like the way you were so concerned about the safety aspect that you got them to sell it to someone else

well it was the garage that came up with the idea of taking the car back to resell because they claim they had not enough cash for the full refund remember this took 7 months to resolve . There big boys they choose the route to resell the car

selling a car in the trade is usually done within a day, seems off that they gave you a loan car for so long. Did you get all the money back?

It took 7 months from the time she bought the car until it was sold she had a loan car for the final 2 months in the mean time she had my other BMW for first 5 months because she was advised not to drive the focus . we kept both the log book for the focus and the loan car until all money was handed over and we also informed the tax office not to issue a log book for the ford. The guards were informed to but they could not get involved in the matter legal advice was taken but court could take a over a year to come around and a that you may only receive installments of money and not the full amount .

Is there another garage nearby you would recommend?

I'll back Robo10 up here completely. The reason i asked the original question was that we got sold a car with alot of problems and were supposedly given a guarantee for 6 months with it. We encountered a good few problems and each time we would contact them they would fob us off. We then brought it to a seperate garage who made a list of all the problems. we brought it back to motor city who said they would sort it. Over 2 weeks later they said to pick it up. We brought it back to other mechanic who said only half it had been fixed. we have since been back on to them, they wont return calls, emails etc. We have now decided to go down the legal route which we have been left with no choice but to do.

I hate being negative about businesses as alot are strugglin and are honest decent guys but these guys are complete and utter outlaws and i'd advise people spending hard earned cash to stay clear of them.

And the above is only a fraction of what has happened to us.
