Used it once, set-up recording no problem using the App, got home the programme was still recording as the red record light was on, on my DVR. Later when I went to watch the recording it was not in My Recordings...........

I use it on iPad, It works most of the time but it does get stuck sometimes trying to connect to the set top box when i try make a recording request.

If it's not working at all, and you've tried the basic uninstall/reinstall and check all of your settings, then I would ask someone who's technically savvy on apps.

There's also a mechanism for doing it on the upc site itself, which might help you.

Use it on an iPhone 4S without any problem.

    thats damn nifty!

Can it also be used as a remote control or is it just for setting the recordings/ reminders ?

This will be damn handy as I usually receive notifications from Sky Never Miss when I'm out and about and, lately, I've forgotten them by the time I get home.

I don't have my account number to hand at the moment so I can't sign up to check this out for myself - can anyone answer the following for me:

    01. Does my STB need to be connected to the internet for this to work?

    02. I have 2 boxes under the same account, can I specify which of the 2 to set the reminder/recording on?

    Yes.

Yes. I have a Cisco HD-DVR and a Thomson bedroom DVR. Both are identified separately.
    :)

It's enough for your set top box to be connected to the UPC cable. It does not need a separate connection to the ethernet plug at the rear of the Cisco box.

You can check that your box is connected to the internet by turning to channel 750 and allowing the test run.

Your set top box will need to be in standby (or powered on) to receive remote record/reminder prompts.

If you still have a problem, you should make sure it's a direct connection from the wall plate to the set top box. If you have an extender cable (so you can place the set top box on a shelf etc.), remove that, restart your set top box and check again.

The iOS app and the website are both working well for me (after I removed the extension cable etc.).

I'm having problems with remote recording - both using the iOS app and the UPC website. My set top box appears ok in the app but when I set something to record it fails to confirm/record. It was working but I cancelled the HD channels last week which may have scuppered things a bit??? I rang customer services - the first rep was quite rude and asked why i cancelled HD and then said that's probably why remote record wasn't working. I rang again and a more helpful rep asked me to restore factory settings but it's still not working. I'm in the Ashtown area. Anyone else having problems with it?

Thanks for the answers, Freddie & Ursus :) I shall investigate my set up when I get home tomorrow and try it all out.

It could all be moot, though, as I can't seem to find the app in the Android Market - when are developers going to realise that the iPhone isn't the be all & end all of smartphones?!

never works for me, only have the standard box so am assuming it has something to do with that.
