A masterpiece, I cannot describe how awesome this film is...its sublime. And the making of the film is almost better than the film itself. I hope this is shown at the next horrorthon.

They showed the documentary about it at the IFI a year or two ago. I missed it sadly.
Man, such a fun movie :)

Watched it at last years horrorthon, camp funny movie but much like everything these days it was ruined by an obnoxious rowdy crowd heckling and adding their own brand of comedy throughout the screening

Oh yeah, I hate it when that happens. Its very self indulgent, they're just trying to impress their friends usually and it ruins the film for everyone else, they're about as funny as a new Simpsons episode too, which would explain why they're not pursuing careers as professional comedians. Thankfully the crowd I was with were unusually sophisticated and didn't descend to this level of behaviour.

From what i remember the bloke who played the Dad is just and all round legend of a man but the Mother is a complete basket case.

The guy who plays the Dad is a dentist in real life isn't he?

yeah the main guy is a real life dentist from alabama and seems like a good guy. but even he got tired and wary of the whole ordeal. despite the undoubted watchabilility of the doc, it's actually quite poignany in places. you see the main guy, george, begging albeit with a smile to give an autograph to someone at some convention. you can see it kind of grates on him a bit that the reason he is famous is because he starred on one of the worst movies ever. the woman who played the mother is completely off her rocker and when interviewed on camera compared the finished movie to casablanca. they have an interview with the old crazy guy whoi owns the shop who says he never liked who he was or felt alive until he got some gratification at one of the screenings. and then the have the director who seems completely deluded. he seems to think it's some sort of masterpiece and doesnt seem to get that the fans are there ironically, basically luaghing at the spectacular ineptitude and stupidity of the movie. he walks up to some cast members in the middle of their interview and shakes hands with the fans at one of the screenings, clearly most of them dont have a clue who he is. he says something a long the lines of "all these people are here for me"

I'll probably watch it tonight when i come home pissed.
