In terms of meeting new people/gaining confidence etc etc I'm 18 so I've never volunteered before so any suggestions? (anything except actually going out to fundraise on the streets etc) Thanks :D

Have a look at Activelink on the volunteer section and maybe look at sites belonging to charities. Some agencies will ask you to commit a certain amount of time over a year to them, some ask for as much as two days a week for a year others are more flexible.A lot will want to you to do an induction course and all will want you Garda vetted too.

    Good luck.

It really depends on what you want to do. You can volunteer to work with older people, animals, children, almost anything. Also you can do regular volunteering or once off. This is a good website for listings (can be hard to find your way around it at first but gives you an idea of the type of opportunities out there)
