Do You Like Guys With Facial Hair?

This is something I've been thinking about recently. I saw an article about how women find men with beards to seem "older, more aggressive and less attractive". They also said "those with full beards were significantly more attractive when they were clean shaven". Link: http://www.skynews.com.au/offbeat/article.aspx?id=726491&vId=

Just wondering what the opinion is of other gay/bi guys out there. Do you think men with beards are unattractive? Personally I dont really like them, but its kind of a contradiction because on occassion I've been known to have a full beard. I think when I am clean shaven I look too young, but with a beard I feel more masculine! Sad, I know.

But my question is: would you prefer men to be clean shaven, with stubble, neat/styled beard or full blown beard?

What do you find more attractive? 102 votes

I guess my order of preference would be:

    1. Clean Shaven
    2. Stubble
    3. Single

Tough one there, could have done with multiple choice. ;)
For me it has to be a neat/trim beard or some stubble although some guys look better clean shaven.

Ah, come on. It has to be clean shaven for me. I can't stand kissing a guy with stubble.

I find when you're kissing a guy, the scrapping of your stubble off the other guy's stubble adds extra sensualness, excitement and pleasure and enhances the awareness of the masculine attraction and bond between you both. Smooth clean-shaven faces are just bland and uninteresting.

I think gay guys who are attracted to more feminine guys prefer clean-shaven faces.

I mean, how could you say no?

Nice pic Pacifist Pigeon. I know what you mean, like.
I mean, if i think the guy is good looking then yeah, i'll kiss him but i'm just not that into stubble on a lad, to be honest.

I agree with Pacifist Pigeon. The feeling of stubble rubbing off stubble when kissing another guy is sexy.:)

    My preference:

    Stubble
    Goatee
    Clean-Shaven
    Beard
    Moustache

the poll shouldn't really be one choice only; I would choose all options except for clean shaven.

can't help the way these things work, but I rarely ever 'clock' people who don't have facial hair. Not a fan of waxed/shaved chests either. The male form uses hair as a secondary sexual characteristic; so down with razors!.

I like guys with a well maintained beard or stubble, but clean shaven is nice too. A full on beard would be a bit of a turn off though.

For me it's definitely stubble. I love when my bf has some stubble, however as with me, we both have to be clean shaven for work, so it's only at the weekend that the stubble comes out!

I also agree with the feeling of kissing someone with stubble, its a great feeling if you ask me, feels like your kissing a MAN!! However a full bear beard is a not a turn on for me!

    Each to there own!

I was thinking of making it multiple choice but thought one option might have given a more definitive result! First preference and all that...

OK i voted for full beards, but only in regard to unstyled beards and of course to a certain limit of length, in general 2 inches long is where it starts becoming a less attractive (sorry all you ZZ tops out there:p).

But in general i prefer either bearded or clean shaven. Not really into anything inbetween. Stubble to me says you don't care or you care too much about your appearance (Those perma-stubble guys drive me mad:p). I'm also less attracted to styled beards, like chin straps, goatees, various moustache etc. There's either an air of vanity off them or they can't yet grow a full face of hair, like when i see a guy with a full beard of any length, i think "yeah he has enough testosterone for me" just that raw manly manliness i like:p But if its too long, theres not a chance. Just thinking of the logistics involved with a kiss from that much hair turns me off:pac:

So yeah, in order from most attractive to most sickening:p

1.full beard. assuming all above conditions are matched xDD
    2.Shaven
    3.neat beard
    4.full beard thats too long:pac:
    5.stubble
    6.moustache
    7.Soul patch:pac:

to help the clean shaven fans to understand here is an analogy:

Clean shaven is similar to flat beer or flat cola,
Stubble upwards is more carbonated. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 334 ✭✭jaydoxx

But the carbon gives you cancer..
    And i prefer pepsi xD

    I prefer Vanilla Coke! :D

    Cherry coke is best. :)

Back on topic, it depends on the guy, but in general I love a nice beard!*

    Beards for life! Love beards.

Stubble can be good, but sometimes it just gives you stubble rash when kissing.

Don't like beards but stubble would have to be one of the biggest turn ons for me and is a big reason why I mostly go for lads in their early 20s.

Can't beat lying on top of each other kissing, worn out after a hard session and biting his chin and rubbing stubble with him. ****ing hawt!

Some guy that I kissed once got a rash from my stubble and his chin even bled

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Yeah it can happen alright, though it's more common in girls, obviously :p But whenever I let my stubble grow (out of sheer laziness) I just have to throw a bit of moisturiser on to soften the hair.
Seems to do the job and makes it more enjoyable for him.

Really? That sounds absolutely absurd! How do you put conditioner on stubble?

This is coming from a bearded man myself btw:P

Just a bit of that after shave balm/moisturiser. Makes everything smoother if it bothers anyone you're getting with.

Sure wouldn't stubble be rougher than a beard anyway?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 334 ✭✭jaydoxx

No sorry I misread. I thought you wrote that you conditioned your stubble, which I couldn't understand because I condition my beard but I have to grow it out a bit first obviously. I was just wondering if people were physically putting conditioner on their stubble:P
