Elections promises are supposed to be 'hard to fulfill'.

That's why people voted for you and the reason you are paid as much as TDs make !! String him up !!

Labour and Fine Gael lied to the people and were elected on lies. I hope the people remember but by the time the next election comes up they will have had enough time at the trough and also their pockets filled. I detest politicians.

Politicians not following up on election promises? Say it ain't so.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

wasn't he the guy that promised college fee's wouldn't rise and was even seen signing a contract or something with students before the election stating that they wouldn't rise?

Labour: A fine shower of cunts more interested in trying to put restrictions on the Internet than working on the many promises they made to get elected.

Has anyone noticed that the people in the higher echelon of the Labour Party sound a little different now since they got into power ... it's something in their voices, a slight quaint muffle...

Gilmore has magically disappeared since election. Was all talk before election and now seemingly he can't or won't do much about anything.

Burton still the only visible TD, pushing for answers about the guarantees given to Anglo.

What the fuhk EMI Sherlock is doing is simply beyond belief. I doubt even Haughey woulda had the balls to pull a stunt like that.

Roisin Shortall is very vocal about banning poor people from drinking alcohol and completely silent on any plans she has for decent medical services for the citizen. (Department of Health with responsibility for Primary Care)

What's striking is that most Labour TDs have never had a steady job in the private sector before. Career politicians methinks. Detached from the real world and making decisions based on their experience of having a cushy number for so long.

It's nearly impossible to do it in a system that will have a coalition that vast majority of the time. Obviously Labour said no raise in college fees but Fine Gael didn't afaik, so should the coalition simply break up over that? If that's the case we'll simply be having elections every 3 months.

    Politicians make false promises.

Electorate elect government on the basis of false promises.

Government fail to deliver upon false promises.

Electorate start bitching when false promises are not delivered and blame the government for making false promises.

Opposition make false promises at the next election and will win and fail to deliver on false promises made pre election

    Repeat forever

You see it's socialism at work ... Stalin would be proud!

 Another genius who doesn't know the difference between Socialism and Totalitarianism.

There should be a sticky of links to unbiased sources of information explaining what the different political philosophies and theories really are. Then there's no excuse for this type of ignorance.

    Sigh...some day...

As for Labour-I expected a little better. Not much, but a little. Turned out to be more of the same, surprise surprise. And what AngryBollix said.
