Building a HTPC - TV Tuner Card PCIe - saorview and analogue - Tech requirements

    Hi,

    MY STORY
I am moving into an apartment in Dublin shortly, and have ordered UPC Broadband for the place. I am not a big TV fan, so I am hoping to pick up the analogue channels on UPC for as long as they are available. I will also want to get the saorview channels.
I have also seen this recent thread, stating that Saorview channels should all be over UPC in the near months: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056558724

    MY SETUP
I have a very well specced PC to use as a HTPC with a few spare PCIe and PCI slots and a ATI FirePro V4800 graphics card which has HDMI output for the TV. What I need is:
    - TV tuner card
    - remote for windows media centre
    - maybe I need a sound card if I want 5.1 output

    MY REQUIREMENTS
Ideally I would like a single card with dual tuner so I can watch one and record the other. For my situation I believe I only need a card that can do analogue (for UPC analogue) and DVB-T (for Saorview).

I have reviewed and researched all the options of TV tuner cards that would fit my requirements but I need some help with a few grey areas. Any advice on the following tech questions would be great:
    1. The "Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2200 MC Kit" seems to fit my needs. Does anyone know if it works with Saorview MPEG4 (as its webpage only mentions UK Freeview)?
    2. The Hauppauge above only has one TV co-ax input. In general, if I wanted to put two co-ax signals into it, can I just buy a cheap splitter. i.e. one input from the analogue UPC box and one input from a UHF aerial for Saorview? Or do I have to find a card with two physical inputs?
    3. From the link above regarding UPC including Saorview from April 2012, will this mean I should be able to get Saorview over their currently available signals or will I need to sign up to a UPC TV package for that?
    4. If I am sending out the sound over the HDMI on my graphics card, can I survive without buying a sound card for the PC? I will prob buy a 5.1 setup that I can passthrough with the HDMI.
    4. I'll take any suggestions on analogue and DVB-T cards with dual tuners for Saorview?
    5. I'll take any suggestions on Windows MC remotes that are programmable for amps/TVs?

    Thanks,
    Mike

OK after some more research here is what I have learned:
    1. I still havent full confirmation but from the amount of Irish (Boards.ie) users with the Hauppauge cards, it seems like it will tune the Saorview. Any confirmations appreciated.
    2. Not so easy. I need to have a Diplexer here to filter out the signals. There are a few boards topics on it over in this forum on Cable/Digital TV:http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=40
I will end up using a Triax diplexer from tvtrade.ie: http://www.tvtrade.ie/triax-uhf-diplexer-tfc-3537.html
This will let me put the UPC analogues in the low range input and the Saorview aerial into the high range input. Here is a thread that has already done this successfully: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056402083
    3. No, Saorview will be part of the UPC package channels. Nothing to do with the 16 or so channels you can pick up without signing up for a tv package.
    4. Open
    5. Open
