What plane for what flight?

Just enquiring about whether with various carriers its possible to find out what plane will be used for your flight

I'm flying Lufthansa next week long haul, and having previously flown long haul with them, I'd rather swim. I fly long haul frequently with various different carriers (in economy) and have always had a TV screen at my seat. Lufthansa however seem to prefer putting a 7'' TV at the top of the cabin, so without binoculars and a neck like a giraffe, its quiet difficult to see the numerous repeats of ''My Best Friends Wedding''

On their website it states that some planes have personal TV's, others don't, the Airbus apparently have TV's, while others such as the 747's don't. I rang them and they were unable to confirm which I am on next week (which leads me to believe I'm on a 747)

Is it possible to find this out in advance of my flight would anyone know? I also find it amazing that they can charge what they do without stating what facilities are onboard, as I'd happily pay extra if it meant flying with the personal TV's

Thanks for that. Just looked it up and its a 747. Its amazing how an independent website can tell you, yet just a few minutes ago when I rang up Lufthansa said they didn't know. I get the impression they know well

Does it not say when booking or checking reservation what the aircraft is with Lufthansa?

When I booked them it was made very clear what aircraft it was.

What route are you flying? You will be able to narrow it down fairly quickly if you post here anyway, or at least Ill have a look.

Aircraft type should be in your booking. Lufthansa are fitting IFE on most of their 747's. There is no way of knowing if you'll be on one until you board as they would rotate across routes/be substituted at the last minute

If flying a long haul frequently you should invest in an iPad.. Much better than any IFE.
