    Hi there,
was wondering if anyone can help me with a query i have.
Im currently only working part -time and recieving part welfare in the form of 'dockets'. However i intend on goin abroad for an extended holiday (3months) to Asia and am selling my car to fund the trip. Will there be a big problem applying for jobseekers upon my return to ireland?? hopefully i can pick up for short term or part -time work easily enough when i return but if i dont and need to sign on will i have to wait the additional 9 weeks because im leaving employment voluntarily? Any advice on the subject would be appreciated. Thankyou in advance

In view of the fact that you will be away for 3 months and will not be making a claim until your return you will technically have served the 9 week disqualification period. You may have to fill out an habitual residence form on your return and provide documentary evidence of your efforts to seek employment on your return e.g. emails from job applications, registration with FAS and registration with recruitment agencies.
