Outside thermometer

Has anyone on here added an outside thermometer to a car before?
I got one but the fitting instructions just say to put the sensor behind the bumper.

Where is the best place to fit the sensor?

Would I be able to put it behind the grill? Or should it be lower?

The usual factory placement is behind lower bumper grilles.

They are normally directly behind the bumper, away from engine heat and out of the direct airflow when driving. This gives the most accurate reading of the ambient temp.
