One is Euro and a serious piece of sports technology which makes or breaks ones training and performance, the other is just all a bit girly....

The running shorts start falling down a bit and this can be quite the issue if you're mountain biking and go off the back of the saddle for that downdhilly section only to find you can't get back up again as your running tights are in the saddle.
As well as being a bit girly.

Depends on how far up the cycling tights food chain you want to go. There is more leg flex in cycling and some of the more expensive tights allow for that. Running shorts tend not have bibs and cycling one do. Bibs in cycling shorts can also allow for bending to reach handlebars as well as keeping kidneys warm. Apart from that running tights look a bit girly :pac:

I often wear cheap running tights over bib shorts. They're great.

Likewise. They are not as heavy as my cycling ones and are fine on days that are not as cold.

That's a symptom of triathlete-itis. Best to tackle this early before you end up with a wardrobe of sleeveless cycling jerseys and develop an irrational desire to throw yourself off the bike at random.

I don't know how running tights have changed over the years but I've always assumed that they don't come in a wide range of weights. If that is the case then they may not offer adequate insulation in colder weather compared to cycling tights. I'd also wonder whether wind proofing is integrated into running tights whereas it's part of many cycling tights these days.

I'd say the main difference is they are both black.
