what i would do is disconnect cold water feed from tank and pipe mains into cold feed and have all cold feeds on mains if its up to the job, that will solve airlocks

Is that not against most local authorities' bye-laws?

What happens if there's a pumping surge on the mains hitting all these CWS appliance?

And what happens if the there's a water cut - how do you flush the bog (more than once)?

OP, that isn't sound advice, and frankly it doesn't solve your problem - hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me and the second poster can advise you

    This is a strange one.
Does the tank run low by any chance when this happens? Is the cold feed pipe level or on a gradual fall away from the tank to the hot press, or does it rise before dropping down?

the tank in the attic i think is to low its sitting on the rafters just above the hotpress there is not a great fall on the pipe until it comes thru the hotpress ceiling is there a recommended height the tank shud be
