Company prsi and pension contribution included in advertised salary?

Apologies for posting across forums, I just have the following query that I would love to get an opinion on:

I recently applied for a public sector job as a researcher - basically the funding is provided by Science foundation ireland and paid to a public body which then pays me.

The advertised salary was around 38k whereas the contract I received last week said 32k. After a bit of telephone work I discovered that the advertised position included the pension contribution made by the employer and the PRSI paid by the employer. I then have to pay employee PRSI and pension contribution out of the remaining 32k leaving a salary of around 24-25k after tax.

I've never heard of a job where the advertised salary included the employers contributions? If I leave at the end of the contract (temporary) can I claim the Pension contribution (minus tax on it) back?

Someone is trying to pull a fast one. If the salary advertised was 38k then your gross salary should be 38k.

Fight it all the way, this is the thin end of the wedge for all jobseekers.

Maybe make a complaint to the employment appeals tribunal?
