I'm looking for ideas on brands for mens black work shoe. I've used ecco for years but went through 2 pairs in 12 months so looking for a change. I'll be commuting by bike so something like for carrying also! Any ideas? Thanks!

The Hibernian Arcade off Grafton St. has a selection of quality English-made shoes such as Barker, Church, and Loakes. They can also get different widths so that you get a better fit and don't have to get a size thats too long in the foot to get the necessary width.

Buy a couple of pairs then a few more if you like them and wear them in rotation. Wearing one or just two pairs all the time destroys shoes.
